It’s hard to describe the fun the girls had at this years Reading Rally.  The afternoon was attended by 53 girls.  The afternoon was centered around painting and gathering books.  They took every book that we had out.  One girl told Nancy Wesson-Dodd the President/CEO of the YWCA, that she only re-read books when she had read all she had.  Nancy asked how many she usually had at home & she said “3.”  So her bag full of books was a thrill.  Of course there were more stories, but this one touched our heart the deepest.  The speakers, both planned & spontaneous, made a big impression.

Thank you so much to Linda C & team for planning this terrific afternoon for the girls and to all the volunteers who made it happen.  As always, we couldn’t do it without our Navy Army Community Credit Union volunteers!  And thanks to Sheri, our new EWI President for coming & to Margaret & Teresa, YWCA Board members, for coming to cheer us on!

We couldn’t have asked for a better day to make the YWTeens feel so special and see a bigger world ahead for each of them.
